SGV helps countryside financial institutions through risk seminar

To contribute to countryside development, SGV conducted a half-day workshop on Risk-Based Capital Planning for Countryside Financial Institutions at its Cebu Office last 18 September. The seminar aimed to strengthen countryside financial institutions through resilience planning and risk-reward balance. Attendees from different banks and government institutions in Visayas participated in the workshop.

FSRM directors Mike Dela Cruz, Hazel Apa, Ruben Simon and Mio Amahan gave an overview on risk management, expected capital constraints based on Basel guidelines and the linkage of risk governance, financial and strategic planning to capital management. Equipped with this knowledge, participants can be able to address existing and emerging regulatory issuances relevant to risk and capital management for thrift, rural and cooperative banks.
