SGV at 70: SGV buildings through the years

Seven years after opening at the Trade and Commerce Building in Binondo, W. SyCip & Co. became SyCip Gorres Velayo & Co. and needed a bigger space to accommodate its people and clients. The Firm moved to the SGV Building erected in 1956 on San Luis Street (now T.M. Kalaw).

SGV remained in San Luis until 1965. With 540 staff at the time and a number of clients who were moving to Makati or were planning to do so, the partners agreed to transfer to Ayala Avenue in Makati. As the Firm approached its 20th year, SGV moved to the SGV I Building, which remains our home to this day.
