Help the victims of Typhoon Yolanda

Super Typhoon Yolanda has caused immense devastation in the Visayas region, prompting President Benigno Aquino III to declare a state of national calamity last 11 November. As the plight of the typhoon’s victims unfolds, there is no doubt that the impact of the storm will be felt for months and even years to come.

Many SGVeans have answered the call for donations to provide financial assistance to our colleagues and their families who have been affected by the typhoon. Service lines and clusters have decided to cancel their respective Christmas celebrations and will donate instead their party funds.

In the wake of this tragedy, there are numerous organizations receiving donations, packaging relief goods and mobilizing volunteers. To ensure that your contributions are not in vain, please refrain from donating money to advertised personal accounts. For donations in kind, items in demand are no-cook food that can be opened without tools, bottled water, medicine, blankets, flashlights, toothbrush and toothpaste, bath and laundry soap, as well as sturdy slippers and shoes.

Let us help our countrymen recover and rebuild in whatever way we can during this time of calamity. Thank you for your generosity.
