EAL speaks at the CAPA Seoul 2015 Conference

MG 7 Assurance Partner Len Layug (EAL) was one of the panelists during the Confederation of Asian and Pacific Accountants (CAPA) Seoul 2015 Conference held at the Coex Convention and Exhibition Center in Seoul, South Korea from 27-29 October 2015. Anchored on the theme “Asian Accountants – Leading the way, inspiring the future,” the CAPA Conference is held every four years. The conference aimed to further enhance the capabilities and competence of professional accountants in the Asia-Pacific region by hosting various exhibitions, technical sessions and social programs.

Together with other panelists for a concurrent session, EAL shared her thoughts on the topic “Technology Change: Where to now, and the impact on the profession.” The session revolved primarily on changes to the accounting profession brought about by cybersecurity, big data, cloud computing, and mobile and social platforms.

CAPA is the regional confederation of national accountancy organizations in the Asia-Pacific region. Its mission is to provide leadership in the development, enhancement, and coordination of accountancy in the region in order to enable the profession to provide consistently high quality services. Today, CAPA has a membership of 31 accountancy organizations in 23 jurisdictions.
