SGV Founder Washington SyCip was bestowed the Arangkada Lifetime Achievement Award during the Fourth Anniversary Forum of Arangkada Philippines last 3 March at the Rizal Ballroom of the Makati Shangri-la Hotel. Presented by Philippine Association of Multinational Companies President Shameem Qurashi, the award recognized Mr. SyCip’s outstanding contributions to the growth of the Philippine economy by encouraging investments into the country.

Upon accepting the award, Mr. SyCip related how he convinced multinational companies such as Texas Instruments and Carnation Milk to invest in the Philippines. He also talked about the beginnings of what became the first outsourcing company in the country and shared his insights on the upcoming expiration of the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program. “There are boundless opportunities for both foreign and local investors in the Philippines,” he concluded.

The Arangkada 2015 forum, with the theme Invest NOW for Inclusive Growth, gathered experts from both the public and private sectors to discuss how we can achieve higher economic growth through investments in the previously identified Seven Big Winner Sectors.
