Welcome home, alumni!

SGV welcomed over a thousand former partners and staff who attended the grand alumni homecoming on 21 July at the Rizal Ballroom of the Makati Shangri-La Hotel. The turnout this year was one of the best with a number of alumni coming from abroad.

Before the night’s program started, everyone was requested to pause for a moment of silence in remembrance of departed alumni, especially those who recently passed away including former Managing Partner Roy Navarro, and retired partners Gene Reyes and Pat Javier.

In his special message, Wash encouraged everyone to go beyond their comfort zones for the greater good by saying ” There is so much that needs to be done to help our country rise above its most pressing challenge which is poverty. As professionals we can always lend our time, talent and resources. Believe me, it takes very little to make a big difference in the lives of others.”

Chairman and Managing Partner Vic Noel reaffirmed the firm’s commitment to social responsibility on the occasion of SGV’s 65th anniversary. He also shared some of the activities that were part of our year-long anniversary celebration, including the completion of Gawad Kalinga Village 88 and the opening of the SGV Museum and Alumni Center in the renovated eCafe.

Alumni gathered in groups and held mini reunions with peers from their batch. Many were also seen shopping at the SGV Store for commemorative items and updating their personal information online.
