SGV formally turned over copies of its publications to the Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA) in a simple ceremony held last 26 March at the Americana Room. The publications were the Firm’s latest resource materials on International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and local taxation. Copies of SGV Founders’ biographies, namely Wash: Only a Bookkeeper and Just the Way It Happened: Memoirs of Alfredo M. Velayo, as well as the Firm’s investor primer, Doing business in the Philippines, were also given. These will become part of the PICPA Library, where they can be accessed by accounting professionals and students.

PICPA National Vice President for Operations, Library and Archives Committee Liaison Director, and SGV Tax Partner Henry Tan; Committee Chairman Edgar Molina; Committee Vice Chairman Rolando Josef; and Technical and Training Director Eugene Villaceran were there to receive the publications. SGV Chairman and Managing Partner Vic Noel (CPN), Vice Chairman and Deputy Managing Partner Itos Cruz, Professional Practice Director Miles San Pedro and Assurance Head Wilson Tan represented the Firm.

In his letter to PICPA, CPN stated, “It is our hope that these resource materials will go a long way in providing present and future Filipino CPAs with information that will help them make a positive difference in their respective organizations.” As he was invited to give a few words, Mr. Molina expressed his gratitude on behalf of PICPA.
