SGV thanks clients, alumni and friends for being part of its 70-year journey

To celebrate time-tested relationships, SGV welcomed its clients, alumni, friends and staff to an evening of music and world-class talent at the Mall of Asia Arena, Pasay City on 24 August 2016. The event, which marked the culmination of SGV’s 70th anniversary festivities, was SGV’s way of expressing its appreciation to all the people who have been a significant part of its journey.

SGV Chairman and Managing Partner Vic Noel opened the evening with a message of gratitude. He said, “Thank you to our clients for your continuing trust and confidence. To our alumni partners and staff for your fierce loyalty to the Firm. To all our friends from EY, the diplomatic corps, and institutions in both the public and private sectors. To our people for your hard work and dedication. Thank you for sharing our story, and for being an important part of our heritage and legacy. Ultimately, you are our reason to celebrate. You are our strength. You are our growth. You are our vision.”

Tony and Olivier Award winner Lea Salonga headlined the show, which took the audience on a journey through SGV’s history with a series of medleys, including favorites from Broadway musicals and popular songs. She also gave a rendition of her song The Journey to accompany a video on SGV’s milestones. The evening included performances from the SGV Glee Club and the SGV Tenors, the quartet of SGV partners Leo Matignas, Henry Tan, Ace Escartin and Francis Ricamora. They were accompanied by the ABS-CBN Philharmonic Orchestra, under the baton of conductor Gerard Salonga.

In addition to C-level executives from SGV’s clients, government officials, diplomats, SGV alumni and staff, members of the EY Asia-Pacific Area Operating Executive (AOE) also attended the celebration. The event coincided with this year’s AOE strategy and monthly meetings, which were held in Manila on 22-24 August 2016.
