SGV teams conduct strategic planning meetings

With FY14 well underway, several teams across SGV have met to plan, strategize and align their goals with EY’s Vision 2020:

MG5 held its second town hall meeting on 5 September that focused on the 2013 year-end report, Vision 2020 and the 2014 plan. MG5 leader Vicky Lee Salas (VLS) talked about the theme for 2014, “Execution”, and connected it with Vision 2020’s strategy of differentiation. She explained that MG5’s focus this fiscal year will be about providing exceptional client service by being Connected, Responsive and Insightful. She highlighted that if we serve clients with distinction, they respond with loyalty. There is a need to build a trusting relationship with our clients by connecting to their strategic wavelength and you become their “go-to advisor”. VLS emphasized the need to have everyone aligned working towards our strategy, intensifying on-the-job coaching, deliver faster response time to both internal and external customers and provide meaningful training to our people. SGV partner Rossana Fajardo delivered a talk on Delivering Quality Service and Delighting Clients, while Ian Lauron gave the closing remarks. Other partners in attendance were MG5 partners, Tax Services Head Manny Alcantara and Advisory Services Head Winnie Chan.

MG3 partners and managers gathered at the eCafe for a planning meeting on 3 September. The event kicked off with MG3 leader Leo Matignas’ (LJM) welcome remarks, followed by an activity designed to help staff remember the MG3 partners, including those newly promoted or transferred into the group. Transaction Advisory Services Head Rene Galve dropped by to say a few words and MG7 senior director Alex Dacanay presented the latest Philippine economic updates. MG3 senior directors Genalyn Arevalo and KC Catalan then discussed the group’s initiatives on the Intelligent Data and the Innov8 campaigns, respectively. LJM also gave an overview of EY’s Vision 2020 before facilitating a strategy formulation activity entitled
MG3 Shooting the Stars. It was a fun-filled and productive planning session that generated favorable feedback from the participants.

Held at the Asian Institute of Management, the whole-day Advisory planning meeting was attended by the service line’s partners and senior directors. Advisory Services Head Winnie Chan welcomed the participants and talked on Vision 2020 in the context of the service line, the FY13 performance and achieving market leadership and growth. This was followed by presentations by each of the SSL heads on the vision for each sub-service line — Risk, IT Risk and Assurance, Performance Improvement and Financial Services Risk Management. In the afternoon session, Alex Dacanay gave an update on Philippine economic performance focusing on the key industries with the most growth for the past year. Senior director Kaye Macaisa also discussed the Advisory Planning Approach, which guided the participants in the group and plenary brainstorming sessions.
