SGV launched the Japanese translation of its “Doing Business in the Philippines” guide on 6 March. It was attended by officials from the Philippine government, Japanese embassy, and Japanese chamber. Over 70 executives from Japanese companies, including EY G360 clients such as Fujitsu, Hitachi, Marubeni, Mitsubishi Motors, Mitsui, and Nomura were also present.

Speaking at the event, Philippine Department of Trade and Industry Secretary Gregory Domingo said the foreign language guides published by SGV have provided valuable support to the government’s investment promotions for the country. Japanese Ambassador Kazuhide Ishikawa, Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Philippines President Yoshio Amano, SGV Founder Washington SyCip and SGV Chairman and Managing Partner Vic Noel also spoke at the event.

Yoko Tsuge of SGV’s Japanese Business Services team was the key person behind the translation of the publication, with helpful inputs from EY Shinnihon and the Philippine Trade and Investment Center in Tokyo. The Japanese edition is the latest addition to foreign language versions of the guide which SGV has been publishing since 1968.
