SGV launches Faire des affaires aux Philippines

SGV’s long-running investment brochure, Doing Business in the Philippines, is now available in French. The French translation of the brochure, Faire des affaires aux Philippines, was launched at the Washington SyCip Development Center (WSDC) on 18 September.

In attendance were officers and members of the Embassy of France in Manila, the Philippine France Business Council, Business France, and the Department of Trade and Industry; Undersecretary for International Economic Relations at the Department of Foreign Affairs Ambassador Manuel Antonio Teehankee, SGV Founder Wash SyCip, Ambassador Delia Albert, and SGV partners.

SGV Vice Chairman and Deputy Managing Partner Wilson Tan opened the program and said that the publication is very relevant to the business communities of both countries. By disseminating the publication, SGV aims to continue supporting the country’s national development and economic growth.

Mr. Laurent Legodec, Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy of France to the Philippines, stated that 2017 marks the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Philippines and France. He also said that because of the increased number of French companies in the Philippines and with France being one of the Philippines’ most important trading partners, the publication can help further strengthen ties between the two countries. He also hopes to launch a French investment brochure to attract more Philippine companies to do business in France.
