SGV recently launched Das Philippinen-Geschäft, the German translation of our Doing Business in the Philippines at the WSDC. SGV has been publishing various versions of the Doing Business in the Philippines publication since 1968. The launch was organized by Tax partner Henry Tan and Assurance partner Martin Guantes who are SGV’s Country Champions for Germany.

Several SGV partners together with more than 50 executives and delegates from the German Business community, which includes the German Embassy in Manila, the German Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (GPCCI), the Department of Foreign Affairs, and representatives from several German companies, attended the event.

Chairman and Managing partner Vic Noel welcomed the guests as he expressed his hope that the publication will further strengthen the long-standing economic and cultural ties between the Philippines and Germany. He was followed by GPCCI President Dr. Bodo Goerlich and German Ambassador Thomas Ossowski, who stated that the publication would be helpful for German investors. SGV Founder Washington SyCip also shared some of his experiences and insights about the growth of business relationships between our two countries over the years.

Department of Foreign Affairs Assistant Secretary Melita Sta. Maria-Thomeczek, who has been nominated by Malacañang as the new ambassador to Germany, was also present at the event.
