SGV is now 68!

Almost 3,000 members of the SGV family attended the 68th SGV Staff Anniversary Ball at the SMX Convention Center last August 22.

Chairman and Managing Partner Vic Noel opened the celebration by recognizing everyone’s contribution to the Firm’s mandate of building a better working world. Founder Washington SyCip relieved the memories of how he and his late friend and co-founder, Alfredo Velayo, started establishing an accounting firm that has now grown not just in numbers, but more importantly, in name and reputation – the success that is and will always be SGV.

This year’s recipient of the esteemed SyCip Award is Assurance Director Albert Bon. SGV Special Awards were presented to Carla Kathrina Co, Paulo Celestino Lastimosa, the Gerry Roxas Foundation Philam Fund Advisory Project Team, and the SGV/EY P&G GIA Testing Center Team.

Four retiring partners – Becca Sarmenta, Vicky Villaluz, Gerry Sanvictores, and Mannie Alcantara – were also honored for their years of service and dedication to the Firm. Partners Leo Matignas, Kiko Ricamora, Rommie Danao, Henry Tan, John Villa and Ace Escartin rendered songs for the retirees before they were each given a token of appreciation.

All promoted staff were called to the stage to be recognized and the evening concluded with the admissions to the partnership that included returning partner Jun Torres (NTT), Ray Francis Balagtas (RCB), Mariecris Barbaso (MNB), Kristopher Catalan (KSC), Ryan Gilbert Chua (RKC), Josenilo Mendoza (JGM), Marvin Perrin Pe (MLP), Marie Stephanie Tan-Hamed (MTH), Jennifer Ticlao (JDT) and Sherwin Yason (SVY).

The celebration was filled with performances from SGV’s Got Talent Year 3 finalists and other SGV volunteers. Loyalty awardees as well as July and October 2013 CPA Board Examination top placers were also recognized.

Happy 68th Anniversary, SGV!
