SGV goes to Tagbilaran for IIA convention

SGV was awarded the largest delegation at the recently held Institute of Internal Auditors-Philippines (IIA-Philippines) 63rd Annual Convention held in Tagbilaran City. The 3-day convention’s theme was Sustaining Growth and Development and was attended by SGV’s Risk, IT Risk and Assurance (ITRA), and Fraud and Investigative Dispute Services (FIDS) partners Mon Dizon, Leo Matignas, Becca Sarmenta, Joselito Lopez, Rossana Fajardo and Erick Vega. SGV was a convention sponsor with Becca serving as a board of director for IIA-Philippines.

In one of the track sessions, FIDS senior manager Brian Li from EY Shanghai presented the topic Anti-Fraud analytics: Integrating data analytics into your work plans.Other relevant sessions included discussions on the quality assessment review, data analytics, internal control assessments and the development of the internal audit profession.

During the CIA testimonial dinner, Leo gave a presentation on his accomplishments as the first Filipino president of the Asian Confederation of Institutes of Internal Auditors (ACIIA). He also shared his experiences in leading the organization and spoke about the need to continue his programs.

IIA-Philippines is the primary association of internal auditors in the Philippines dedicated to developing and promoting the practice of internal auditing.
