Market Group 3 Risk senior associate Paulo Lastimosa, 25, is the Philippines’ youngest risk management practitioner to earn a Certification in Risk Management Assurance. As the youngest passer of the CRMA exams, Paulo was invited by the Institute of Internal Auditors Philippines (IIAP) to deliver a testimonial speech during the recent IIAP general membership meeting at the Intercontinental Hotel Manila. In his speech, he emphasized that his enterprise risk management experience and training in SGV greatly helped him pass the global examination. “As I answered the questions, I realized that most of the subjects of the questions are repeatedly discussed by my partner-in-charge, Mr. Leo Matignas, when we conduct risk management workshops, risk framework assessment sessions, risk self-assessment training, risk identification workshops and corporate governance training,” he shared, “I was delighted to know that my experience in SGV was an everyday review for the CRMA exam.

Risk associate director Michael Saniel joins Paulo in the roster of CRMAs in the Philippines upon passing the same examination that was held last October 2013. Mike was also one of the CIA global top 10 when he passed the CIA examination in 2011 and a recipient of the CIA Certificate of Excellence that year.

CRMA is a global certification for risk management practitioners by the Institute of Internal Auditors Global. Market Group 3 Leader Leo Matignas is the first Philippine-based Filipino to earn this certification, later on joined by Risk partners Ian Canlas and Becca Sarmenta. At present, CRMAs in the Philippines are mostly Chief Audit Executives, partners of big accounting firms and seasoned professionals.

Congratulations, Mike and Paulo! Your SGV family is very proud of you.
