Gaile A. Macapinlac
Partner, Assurance

GAM-img-thumb Gaile is an Assurance partner. She graduated from the UST with a Bachelor of Science degree in Commerce, Major in Accountancy. She is a CPA and a member of PICPA.

Gaile is adept at handling the audits for clients from the water utilities, real estate and consumer products industries. Her competencies are in the areas of capital market transactions, such as listing by introduction, stock rights offerings and bond offerings, as well as handling complex accounting and audit issues.

She is a subject matter expert on the accounting standards for Service Concession Arrangements and Real Estate Accounting. She is also active in the Firm’s training programs.

Jim R. Macatingrao
Partner, Tax

RCB-img-thumb Jim obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy, cum laude, from Bicol University. He also completed the Management Development Program of the AIM. He placed 13th in the CPA Board Examinations. He is a member of PICPA.

Jim’s competencies include global compliance and reporting (GCR), transaction tax and tax accounting and risk advisory services for clients in the air and water transportation, manufacturing, retail and distribution, power and energy, services, insurance, medical and healthcare, freight and logistics, petroleum, mining , telecommunications, gaming, hotels, BPO, and Information Technology (IT) industries, as well as entities registered with the Philippine Board of Investments, the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA), the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority, and the Clark Development Corporation.

Aris C. Malantic
EY ASEAN FAAS Leader; Partner, Assurance

Aris is an Assurance partner. His experience include providing assurance services to local and multinational banks and other financial institutions, manufacturing and trading firms, healthcare and health maintenance organizations and educational institutions. He is also involved in due diligence work for mergers and acquisitions, post-closing completion audits, issuances of comfort letters for fund raising exercises and IFRS implementations. He has conducted various seminars for clients and regulators covering accounting standards and banking related topics.

Aris is a Certified Public Accountant and is a member of the Philippines Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

He completed his Master in Business Management, major in Finance, degree at the Asian Institute of Management. He also attended the Pacific Rim Bankers Program of the University of Washington in Seattle. He graduated with a degree in Commerce, major in Accounting at the University of Santo Tomas.

Carlo Paolo V. Manalang
Partner, Assurance

CVM-img-thumb Carlo is an Assurance partner. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Accountancy from the UST. He is a CPA and a member of PICPA.

Carlo is experienced at handling the audit of real estate, infrastructure, water utilities, electronics manufacturing, and holding companies. He is a member of the Firm’s ASG and is one of our subject matter resources on Group Accounts and Business Combinations. He is also active as a facilitator in our training programs. He supports the ATH as a pre-issuance reviewer of financial statements for Singapore companies.

Reynante M. Marcelo
Partner, Tax

Rey is a CPA–Lawyer and a partner in Tax. His experience covers transfer pricing advisory engagements and business tax advisory services. From 2003 to 2004, he worked in Ernst & Young New York for the Philippine Tax Desk of the International Tax Services.

He is a member of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines.

Rey attended the Management Development Program of the Asian Institute of Management. He obtained his Law degree from San Beda College in 1994. He earned his Accountancy degree from the Philippine School of Business Administration in 1989.

Josenilo G. Mendoza
Partner, Tax

JGM-img-thumb Josenilo is a Tax partner. He graduated with a degree in Business Administration and Accountancy, magna cum laude, from the University of the Philippines – Diliman in 2002. He also obtained his Master in Management, with distinction, from the AIM in 2012. He placed 15th in the 2003 CPA Board Examinations and joined SGV in the same year.

Nilo is experienced in providing diverse tax and audit support services, including tax compliance reviews, tax due diligence, tax return preparation and filing, tax accounting and provisioning advisory, tax planning and restructuring for clients in the manufacturing, semiconductor, mining, logistics, power, utilities, real estate and other sectors. He is also actively involved in the Firm’s internal and external training programs on tax-related subjects.

Christiane Joymiel Say-Mendoza
Partner, Advisory

CSM-img-thumb Chin is an Advisory partner. She completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Accountancy from the UST. She is a CPA and a member of PICPA. She is also a Certified Information Systems Auditor. Chin was a member of the global team that won the 2015 EY Better Begins With You award for exceptional client service. She was also a recipient of a 2014 SGV Special Group Award.

Chin’s client engagements are in the consumer products, healthcare, hospitality and airline industries. Her area of specialization is on Risk Advisory focusing on internal audit transformation, internal controls, Sarbanes-Oxley 404 audits, compliance testing and financial audit information technology integration. As the Global Testing Center Leader for a key global client engagement, she helped establish an EY Costa Rica team for the same client.

She is married to Jayson Mendoza and they have a son.

Marydith C. Miguel
Partner, Assurance

Dolly is a partner in Assurance with many years of experience in audit and is IFRS-accredited based on EY requirements. She has extensive experience in financial audits, agreed-upon procedures, limited-review procedures, due diligence reviews, and cross-border and local equity offerings. She has worked with companies engaged in telecommunications, real estate, investment holdings, tollways, car assembly, food retailing, and entertainment, as well as airlines, hospitals, schools, and nonstick, nonprofit organizations. She also has deep experience in the review of internal controls over financial reporting.

She was a National Board member of the Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA) for 2008-2010, and served as President of the PICPA Western Manila Chapter in 2006-2007.

She was an SGV scholar at the Asian Institute of Management, where she obtained a Master in Management degree in 1996. She graduated cum laude from the University of the East in Manila with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, major in Accounting.

Czarina R. Miranda
Partner, Tax Reporting and Operations Group

Czarina conducts transaction tax and due diligence reviews involving corporate acquisitions, reorganizations and mergers. She also handles business and individual tax compliance and provides tax accounting and risk advisory services. Czarina is involved in the review of Philippine Accounting Standards (PAS) and Philippine Financial Reporting Standards (PFRS) and their implications on existing tax laws, rules and regulations. She is highly experienced in various industries particularly banking and capital markets, pre-need and insurance, telecommunications, service and manufacturing. She is a member of the PICPA.

Dolmar C. Montañez
Partner, Assurance

RCB-img-thumb Dolmar graduated with academic distinction from St. Joseph College, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Accountancy. He also completed the Management Acceleration Program of INSEAD Singapore. He placed 15th in the CPA Board Examinations. He is also a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) and a member of PICPA.

Dolmar’s audit clients are from the telecommunications, BPO, real estate and construction, insurance (life and non-life), stock brokerage, and beverage manufacturing industries. He is experienced in assisting clients in initial public offerings and other equity and debt offerings. He is a member of SGV’s Capital Markets Group and is knowledgeable in capital market transactions (cross-border and local). He is also a member of the ASG and a subject matter resource on First Time IFRS Adoption and Conversion (FTAC), Financial Statement Presentation and Disclosure, and US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

Manolito Q. Montes
Partner, Assurance

Lito is a CPA and a partner in Assurance. He specializes in the audit of logistics and freight forwarding companies, warehousing and storage operations, educational institutions and companies in the commercial services, PEZA-registered manufacturing companies, hospitals, restaurants, car dealerships, and real estate companies, among others.

He is a member of the Rotary Club of Paseo de Roxas, the Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA) and the Alumni Association of the Asian Institute of Management (AIM).

Lito has completed the Management Development Program of the AIM. He graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Accountancy — cum laude from the St. Paul’s University Tuguegarao.

Stephanie V. Nava
Partner, Tax

RCB-img-thumb Stef graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy from the University of Santo Tomas. She obtained her Bachelor of Laws degree from the San Beda College of Law. She also completed the Management Development Program of the AIM. She is a member of the IBP.

Stef is experienced in handling global trade and customs advisory and advocacy services, corporate organization and reorganization, and registration of incentives for companies in the oil and gas, transport and logistics, mining, manufacturing, power and energy, supply and distribution, service, consumer goods, real estate, construction, telecommunications, automotive, electronics, packaging and BPO industries. She is also a frequent resource speaker on Indirect Tax and Customs laws and updates, as well as a regular facilitator for SGV’s training programs.

Allan W. Ocho
Partner, Advisory

Allan is a CPA, Certified Information Systems Auditor, Certified Information Security Manager, Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control, ITIL v3 Certified and ISO27001 Lead Auditor. He leads IT audit and advisory engagements with focus on financial audit IT integration, application controls and security, service organization controls reporting, project risk management and data analytics. His clients include companies in the airline, banking, telecommunications, education, retail and manufacturing industries.

He is one of the Board of Trustees and the Vice President of the ISACA Manila Chapter, a professional organization for IT security, assurance and governance professionals. He is also a member of the Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA) and the Project Management Institute.

Allan earned his Master in Business Administration degree from the Asian Institute of Management. He graduated magna cum laude from Holy Name University with a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy degree. He placed 13th in the October 1996 CPA Board examinations.

Cheryl Edeline C. Ong
Partner-in-Charge, Cebu

RCB-img-thumb Cheryl graduated from the University of San Carlos with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accountancy, magna cum laude. She completed her Bachelor of Laws, cum laude, from the University of Cebu. She is a CPA-lawyer. She is a member of both PICPA and the IBP.

Cheryl specializes in providing business tax advisory services to companies in the manufacturing, automotive, semiconductor, BPO, hospitality, power and real estate industries. Her competencies also include assistance in handling tax and customs audits and assistance in corporate registrations with government agencies.

Irene Janet Alvarado-Paraiso
Partner, Assurance

Janet is a CPA and a partner in Assurance. As the Philippine Capital Markets leader, she specializes in capital market transactions and assists teams in cross border securities offerings. Janet was sent on an 18-month stint with the Capital Markets Centre in Ernst & Young Melbourne. There, she handled Australian clients in retail and industrial businesses, biotechnology, oil and gas, and mining. She specializes in financial services, business process outsourcing, and manufacturing industries.

She is a member of the Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA).

Janet completed her Masters in Business Management, major in Finance, at the Asian Institute of Management. She received her Bachelor of Science in Accountancy from the Polytechnic University of the Philippines.

Marvin Perrin L. Pe
Partner, Assurance

MLP-img-thumb Marvin is an Assurance partner. He pursued a bachelor’s degree in Accountancy from the Centro Escolar University and graduated in 2003. He is a CPA, CIA, Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), and has a Certification in Control Self-Assessment (CCSA). Marvin holds a Master in Management degree, with distinction, from the AIM in 2012. He has been with SGV since 2003.

Marvin specializes in Fraud Investigation and Fraud Data Analytics, and has performed engagements for clients in the health services, financial services, real estate, and consumer products sectors. He is a member of the SGV Fraud Investigation and Dispute Services group.

Alvin M. Pinpin
Partner-in-Charge, Davao, Cagayan de Oro and General Santos City

Alvin is a CPA and a partner in Assurance. He has experience in audits of multinational, publicly listed and special economic zones companies. He handles audit engagements of companies in the agriculture, power generation and distribution, transportation, hospitality, real estate and manufacturing industries. He also has experience in business advisory, IAS conversion and advisory, due diligence reviews and regulatory compliance, as well as internal control reviews.

He is a member of the Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA).

Alvin earned his Master’s in Business Administration from the Asian Institute of Management in 2002 as an SGV scholar. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accountancy from the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila.

Maria Veronica Andresa R. Pore
Partner, Assurance

VicVic is a CPA. She specializes in the audit of companies in the power and utilities industry. She also handles engagements in manufacturing and distribution, retail, construction, logistics and freight forwarding, warehousing and storage operations, and ship management and crewing/manning. She is SGV’s subject matter resource on IFRIC 12 Service Concession Arrangement. Her experience also includes audits of multinational companies with IFRS and US GAAP reporting.

She is a member of the Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA) and the Association of Certified Public Accountants in Public Practice (ACPAPP).

VicVic graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce major in Accounting from the Ateneo de Davao University, and attended the Advanced Management Program of Columbia Business School.

Bernalette L. Ramos
Partner, Assurance

Narlet is a CPA and an Assurance partner. She has handled several engagements that are usually in the nature of regular annual audit of client companies, PFRS conversion engagements for non-audit and audit clients, and review engagements related to public offerings. Her experience encompasses the audit of life and nonlife insurance companies, real estate, utilities and manufacturing and educational institutions.

Narlet completed her Masters degree in Management from the Asian Institute of Management in 2008 and graduated with a degree in Business Administration and Accountancy from University of the Philippines in 1994. She is a CPA and placed 13th in the October 1994 CPA Licensure Examination. She placed 13th in the October 1994 CPA Licensure Examination.

Fidela T. Isip-Reyes
Partner, Tax

Fidela is a CPA–Lawyer and a partner in the International Tax Services practice of the Firm. She has provided various tax services to local and foreign clients in the manufacturing, food and beverage, telecommunication, construction, infrastructure and real estate industries. She is experienced in providing advice on corporate organizations and reorganizations, corporate registrations, mergers and spin-offs, design and implementation of tax effective alternatives in structuring local and foreign investments, investment incentive regimes, special economic zones international tax planning, VAT planning, and customs and import/tariff matters. Fidela has also provided advice on estate planning, planning and implementation of tax strategies to reduce tax liabilities, and she also assisted in the protest of deficiency tax assessments.

Fidela completed the Management Development Program at the Asian Institute of Management. She also earned her Bachelor of Laws degree from the San Beda College and graduated from the University of Santo Tomas with a Commerce degree major in Accounting.
