Sharing the many new rules under the recently enacted Customs Modernization and Tariff Act (CMTA), MPT discussed the changes under the CMTA and exchanged views with PSBC member companies who have significant interactions with the Bureau of Customs (BOC) and the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR).

The discussion also covered the salient features of the European Free Trade Agreement (eFTA), which is a trade agreement between eFTA States (Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland) and the Philippines. The eFTA was signed last 28 April 2016 in Bern, Switzerland and is now awaiting ratification by the Philippine Senate.
