Mandarin translation of “Doing Business in the Philippines” launched

A short and meaningful ceremony marked the launch of the Mandarin translation of “Doing Business in the Philippines” on March 4, 2011. The Mandarin translation of the SGV brochure was a project undertaken by the Office of the Economic and Commercial Counselor of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China.

SGV played host to members of the Philippine China Business Council (PCBC), Chinese Enterprises Philippine Association (CEPA), Filipino-Chinese Federations, and distinguished guests from the Department of Foreign Affairs and the Department of Trade and Industry in a cocktail reception. Chairman and Managing Partner Vic Noel reaffirmed the strong professional relationship between SGV and the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in his welcome message.

Filling in for HE Ambassador Liu Jianchao as guest of honor was Honorable Bai Tian, Charge d’ Affaires, a.i. In his message, he expressed his happiness that the project has come to fruition, saying: “This undertaking is a testament to the strong economic ties shared by the People’s Republic of China and the Philippines. The Mandarin translation of Doing Business in the Philippines will surely help the Chinese businessman have a clear understanding of the Philippine business environment.”

Also present during the affair was Economic and Commercial Counsellor Wu Zhengping, who along with Deputy Managing Partner Itos Cruz, led the ceremonial toast. To the delight of the guests and to cap off a wonderful evening, SGV Founder Wash SyCip later graced the affair.
