EY partners participate in Asia IoT Business Platform in Manila

The recently concluded Asia IoT Business Platform 2015 was held at the Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila from 10-11 February. The two-day conference was the third leg of the M2M Business Platform in Southeast Asia, after Jakarta and Kuala Lumpur, where key players in the Machine to Machine (M2M) industry gather to discuss sector developments, share information and establish strategic relationships.

Among the participants in the conference were EY Asia Pacific Advisory Partner, Sunny Chu, who moderated a panel discussion on finding the right business model when developing and adopting the M2M sector. He was joined by panelists Chai Ming Ching, Project Manager of Maxis, Hendra Sumiarsa, Head of M2M of Indosat, and Ken Wong, M2M Specialist from the M2M Center of Excellence of Optus. The discussion tackled how leading global M2M and IoT players are able to utilize technology in improving client satisfaction and optimizing internal processes.

EY ASEAN Advisory Partner Bill Lee also discussed how data analytics drives decisions and improves performance, and when applied correctly, paves the way to revenue enhancement, operations optimization and risk management. Mr. Lee also tackled how predictive modeling can be combined with data mining for additional information, which can be used in identifying patterns in consumer behavior.

Advisory Head Winnie Chan was also among the SGV/EY attendees.
