Back-to-back seminars held in Cebu

SGV Cebu held a series of seminars — Philippine Financial Reporting Standards for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs), Fraud Investigation and Actuarial Valuation Concepts — on 17-18 August at the branch’s office in the Insular Life Building.

Assurance partners Yen Abarca, John Villa and Madz Vestil discussed the fundamental concepts of the PFRS for SMEs. Fraud Investigation and Dispute Services (FIDS) partner Erick Vega addressed the complex issues of fraud and discussed the leading practices on fraud prevention and detection, while actuarial expert Orly Manalang, with John Villa, led the discussion on actuarial valuation concepts and Philippine Accounting Standard 19, Employee Benefits.

The 2-day CPE-accredited seminars were attended by 130 participants from Visayas and Mindanao. Participants described the seminars as “very interesting, timely and informative.”
The teamwork exhibited by SGV Cebu and Cagayan de Oro in the conduct of these seminars prompted one of the participants to say, “Congratulations! Excellent service, Team SGV!”
